Looks like normal sand, but it has some really magical properties… thanks to science! Terrific when teaching chemistry that includes hydrophobic substances, mixtures, properties and characteristics of substances, or solubility!
Coated with a hydrophobic substance, this sand remains dry even when dumped into water! This sand can be molded and will hold its shape under water. Build castles or any other structure under the water, then either pour the water off or scoop the sand out- the sand is still dry!
