You put a pen on a student’s outstretched fingertips and cover it with a transparent plastic card. The pen is clearly visible under the card, and their fingers are clearly visible under the pen. You begin to rotate the card and as you do, the pen completely disappears from view, but their fingers can still be seen! The ends of the pen are seen still protruding from each end of the card! Your friend can even open and close their fingers… the fingers are clearly seen, but the pen has vanished.
Now you rotate the transparent card back to its original position, and the pen reappears on top of the fingers. To “twist” reality even more, you begin to rotate the card back and forth, spinning it from left to right repeatedly, claiming that you are magically twisting the pen. Incredibly, when you remove the transparent card, the pen, that was always in the student’s hand, is clearly twisted in its center!
• The transparent card is the size of a credit card, and can easily be slipped into your pocket or wallet.
• You can vanish the center of any borrowed pen. But to twist the pen, you must use the special pen supplied.
