Spinosaurus

Spinosaurus, or “spiny lizard”, lived in the Cretaceous period.  It was both carnivorous and piscivorous.  Spinosaurus was one of the longest dinosaurs, measuring up to 59 feet long!  Standing at 20 feet tall, it weighed up to 9 tons.  The skull of Spinosaurus was shaped like that of a crocodile, with many long, narrow, straight teeth.  It is easily recognizable by its very large dorsal spines, which acted as a thermal regulator for the creature.  The skull of Spinosaurus was shaped like that of a crocodile, with many long, narrow, straight teeth.
