A fascinating, 500 million year old fossil for the classroom, or for any dinosaur or paleontology enthusiast!

The most authentic and powerful way to learn is to experience something for ourselves.  With this fossil in your collection, your students will be able to hold an extinct marine arthropod from about 500 million years ago!

Trilobites are a group of extinct marine arthropod that first appears in the Early Cambrian period (521 million years ago) and flourished throughout the lower Paleozoic. They disappeared in the mass extinction at the end of the Permian about 252 million years ago.  Trilobites were among the most successful of all early animals, existing in oceans for almost 300 million years.  Some moved over the seabed as predators, scavengers, or filter feeders, and some swam, feeding on plankton. Some even crawled onto land.
