This is an authentic fossilized tooth from a Mosasaurus—a giant, carnivorous, marine lizard that lived until about 66 million years ago. The Mosasaur comes from a family of large marine reptiles with paddle like fins that roamed the Cretaceous seas over 85 million years ago! They were strong swimmers, dominant predators and ranged in size from about 10 feet (3 meters) to over 48 feet (15 meters).
